Sheldon Kay, The Rock & Roll Lawyer, is an attorney with over 38 years of experience in a wide variety of areas, his office tackles Family Law, Juvenile Law, General Civil & Business Law and Criminal Law with a specialty in Entertainment Law. He counts the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin as one of his famous client’s. He also is a lecturer at the local Michigan law schools and has put on his own Entertainment Law Seminars.
He understands musicians. Why? Because he is one. He is a serious student of guitar, having played in various bands since 1963. He has a knack for bringing diverse musical genres (G. Scott Rainey’s favorite word) together as evidenced by each week’s set list. One week, you’ll hear an actual recording session where historic hits were cut, and the following week, National or Local talent will hit the airwaves.
Not afraid to tackle controversial legal issues, he respects the guests that are a part of the show, no matter what view they represent, even if his opinion differs. Guests, including top name lawyers, musicians, authors, and entertainers have said that not only did SLK and his crew treat us with respect, but that they were able to discuss their point of view in a conversational setting, without the belligerence you see on tv and other radio shows. His show is unlike any other legal show of its kind on the air, vinalyzed and greased up and ready to roll, daddio because “That’s what we do”.
